Mara's Cafe's are open on the 4th of July. Our hours will be 8am
- 10 pm. Join us for breakfast, lunch, dinner or dessert to see
what "American Specials" we have planned. Past years
specials have included Red, White & Blue gelato, and Independence
Pie. This year? You have to come in to find out!

It's the carefree days of summer, the days of the beach,
flip-flops and the smell of sunscreen. Wouldn't it be great if we
were ALL on summer vacation? Now we know that some people
(including ourselves!) still work through these dog days of summer.
So to make it feel more like a vacation, we want you to come to Mara's
this summer, and although you may be in Westwood or Denville, here you
will feel like you are on that summer vacation of your dreams.
Whether it be the hand crafted gelato, a smooth virgin pina colada,
delicious frozen hot chocolate or one of our many dessert, lunch
or dinner specials you will be taken away to the perfect getaway.

is National Ice Cream Month!
Not at
Mara's! At Mara's July is Denville and Westwood Gelato
Month! Gelato is the perfect summer treat: Truly delicious,
yet less fat and more natural then traditional American hard ice
cream. We make our gelato, one batch at a time, in each location
creating an unmatched freshness. With 22 flavors available in our
cases at all times, there is as an array to choose from, with new
flavors being created all the time.

Spotlight:
Michelle
Buckalew (Denville)
Michelle, known
to most as Meesh, has been working at the Denville Mara's since January
2006. Despite only being 20 years old, Meesh quickly worked her
way from counter person to manager by September of 2006. Always
smiling and making everyone feel comfortable, Meesh is a manger
that we are happy to say most staff would also call a
friend. Michelle is a lead by example manager, and as a
former cheerleader, has a non-stop motor that keeps everyone
going. Next time you are in our Denville cafe, say hello to
Meesh, and remind her to lock the door before she leaves, Ian doesn't
like coming in at 3 AM to turn off the alarm.

and Birth Boutique: The Perfect Combination for Expecting Mother's.
One of our fellow business neighbors in downtown Denville is The
Birth Boutique, a unique specialty store and learning center for
new & expectant parents. The Birth Boutique just launched a
new client appreciation program, called the Ambassador Club, where

herself will not eat inside during the summer, and as such, we
make sure our outdoor seating areas are as comfortable and
inviting for those who feel the same way.

Our family loves Mara's
here in Denville. The trivia facts you send are always interesting. The
emu information made us laugh. We moved to
Washington state from Texas and lived there for nine years. Several
neighbors raised emus for meat and oil. The fun would begin when
one of
them would manage to escape from their enclosure. My husband became the
local emu wrangler and would 'lasso' the escapee and walk them back to
their pasture. Emus are strong and ornery and he'd be black and blue
from
the experience. What a sight to see: Joe grinning as he walked down a
country road with an unhappy emu at his side!

Summer is
finally here, and hopefully the weather will continue to be as
beautiful as it has been the past couple of months. Thanks again
for taking the time to read our email, and keep an eye out for our
mid-month email promotion with a summer flare as well as our
